Bai Tu Long Bay, located in the northeast of Ha Long Bay, is concave area in the Gulf of Tonkin, northeast of Vietnam. The bay is a sea area belong to Ha Long City, bordered with Cam Pha county town in the west, Co To district in the northeast and East sea in the east.
Bai Tu Long Bay comprises hundreds of large and small islands, some of them has population. Residents live mostly in Cam Pha District, Van Don district, Quan Lan island, Sen village, Ngoc Vung and the coastal of en Do, Cua Ong,...fishing and aquaculture are their main livelihood.

Kayaking on Bai Tu Long Bay
This bay is also a destination for looking back the past, the famous place is Van Don port, a developed area in Ly dynasty. This is also a place to commemorate the hero Tran Khanh Du and his three brothers who live in Quan Lan commune, they defeated the food ship of Mongol rebel leader Truong Van Ho.
Bai Tu Long Bay has a lot of well-known temples such as: Tran Quoc Tang temple (Suot temple), Tinh Hai military post, Mac citadel (on Ngoc Vung island), Quan Lan temple and a historical monument 100-space pagoda in Thang Loi commune.

Besides, the bay has rich and various of fauna and flora, it is diversifying all the forms of tours and visits. The flora has 780 species, 468 branches, 135 families in 5 vascular plants. Among them, 21 threatened plants are added in Vietnam Red List, 10 rare plants need protection.
Bai Tu Long National Park is considered as the forest and sea conservation area. A 2-km of white smooth sand on natural beach in the park is evaluated one of the most beautiful in the Gulf of Tonkin. Near the beach is old-growth forest with an area of 14 hectare, suitable for anyone love ecotourism.

According to the survey, in the National Park there are over 178 aquatic plant species, 119 fish species, 132 invertebrate species, 106 coral species living in the sea and tidal, and a dozen of main birds of prey such as Burmese hawks , Japanese eagles, black hawks, white-rumped shama, big Coucal, Hai Nam flycatchers...
