Ha Long in Autumn - An august day view

Away from Ha Long around 2 years, i come back to the hometown with many nostalgia. Ha Long in a day of august in my memory is familiar and strange at a same time. Cause of its evolution gave Ha Long a new appearance, but the people and the atmosphere are still the same as the day i left.

Is Ha Long in August still beautiful?

It is not the first time i have been asked this question. And even now or ever, my answers would remain the same:"Yes, yes it is".

But to be honest, it is rare to see a westerner around Ha Long in this time of the year. Because the tourists, who just come and go in a short time know about us mostly through the advertisements, leaflets that only promote these "beautiful beaches", "Ha Long Park", "Sun Wheel"...which they call it Ha Long' symbols. They are too busy to explore the Bay, experience the dynamic activities in summer. But forgot about the Bai Chay's bridge other side, where almost the locals live at, where contains the Ha Long's identity. They missed a Ha Long's aspect, a part of the simplicity, with the same beaches, same people but in a unique way.

Have you had the chance to watching the surfs gently caress the sand shore in the afternoon, at sunset. I have adored the feeling of the cold winds though my hair, chilling my exhausted soul, take away my sadness and sorrows.

To me, Ha Long in August is boozing with my friends at those booths under the bridge in Cienco 5, the opposite side of Bai Chay. Listening to the sound of the surfs on the shore would make my heart smile. Sharing the stories to the friends beside this symphony, cheering with the cold beers and the atmosphere filled of grilled oyster flavor. My mouth is salivating with only the thought of it.

The food is getting better in Autumn

I miss walking on the coastal road with my ex. Admired you and the Bay contesting each other, chasing you around the coconut trees, or the moments of silence, sitting on the benches, hand in hand, we were trying to help me contain the "Ha Long" through my breath as much as it possible because i had to leave for a long time. Even that i can't remember the feeling about her, but fortunately, the Bay, the wind, the salty breath,...everything is still the same, still touching as it was.

Even though it is august, Ha Long water park is not a likely place to go, or swimming might not the first thing on the tourists' criteria list. But the other parts of Ha Long are still remarkable.

I have heard alot of this bridge, a new corner to capture the most beautiful photo.
